7/16 DIN
These connectors, originally standardized by the Deutsches Institut fur Normung, have become the industry standard for low passive Intermodulation (PIM) applications within the digital communications world. With a high power capability and the capacity to operate up to 7.5GHz makes these connectors the default choice by OEM’s and integrators alike. With the name deriving from a 7mm inner contact diameter and a 16mm outer contact diameter these connectors are available for use on corrugated and flexible coaxial cables.
N Series
N-Type connector (Navy Connectors) are a high performance connector for use in a wide variety of applications. A low PIM and low loss connector, the N-Type is the industry standard in many facets of wireless communications.
UHF Series
UHF connectors will operate between DC to 300MHz. A low cost threaded connector, the UHF series is popular in CB and lower frequency mobile radio applications.
TNC Series
TNC Connectors (Threaded Navy Connectors) use a threaded coupling nut and will operate from DC to 11GHz.
BNC Series
BNC connectors (Bayonet Navy Connector) use the same interface as the TNC series but instead of a threaded coupling nut they use a bayonet coupling mechanism allowing a quicker connect/disconnect. BNC connectors are generally used within an operating range of DC to 4GHz.
SMA Series
SMA connectors are a sub-miniature coaxial connector used for higher frequency requirements with a precision threaded coupling mechanism. They are a light weight, high strength connector capable of operation up to 18GHz.
Additional Connectors
Mini UHF Series
Mini-UHF connectors are capable of operation from DC to 2.5GHz they are a small, lightweight and cost effective solution for many wireless requirements.
FME Series
A low cost lightweight threaded solution for high vibration installations, the FME connector series have gained popularity worldwide in cellular mobile applications and are also known as rotating nipple connectors. They are generally used up to 1.8GHz and can be mated to a range of adapters to match different connector series in an installation.
MMCX Series
Designed for the smallest of applications, MMCX micro-miniature connectors provide reliable performance up to 6GHz. They mate using a snap on mechanism which also provides precision performance in the latest wireless applications such as GPS tracking and telematics.
Inter Series Adapters
RFI has a vast range of coaxial adaptors and adapter kits. Please note that when specifying adaptors the specification of the lower frequency series connector over rides that of the higher frequency connector. eg; N Male – SMA Male, the N-type is used as the reference for the specification.
