How to improve indoor cellular coverage with RFI’s CEB2000B Repeater

CEB2000B

RFI’s CEB2000B is a low power repeater designed to enhance WCDMA (UMTS) signals into homes, offices, car parks and retail shops. When indoors, a mobile phone signal can be  reduced as radio waves are attenuated by the building. This can result in the user experiencing dropped calls, poor call quality or slower data rates.

The CEB2000B repeater can extend the network coverage indoors by taking a good signal from an outdoor antenna, amplifying it, and retransmitting the signal via an indoor antenna to the target coverage area. The CEB2000B is the ideal active component for a small office area or retail shop, mounting in a ceiling cavity or store room. Other requirements for the system are a directional outdoor donor antenna, coaxial cable and connectors plus an indoor coverage antenna, which can be ceiling mounted. Depending on the size of the target coverage area, a number of indoor  antennas can be combined by a splitter and fed from the one CEB2000B repeater.

It is important to note that mobile phone Network Operators own the spectrum licences for the frequency band the phones operate in. For this reason the CEB2000B repeater should not be used without the direct permission from the Network Operator whose channels are being repeated.
